Maybe I missed it.

Does anyone know what the thresholds for chair promotions are?

And all this time I thought thresholds were for doorways....... ;)

5 chair is 10

4 chair is 100

3 chair is 250

2 chair is 750

1 chair is 1500

All values are approximate. The system is so new that we've only witnessed some of the lower chairs transform.. Newbie to 5 might be 25 rather than 10 but other than that I think this is pretty accurate. You got a new chair at 750 if I remember correctly Shap?

And here I thought you were trying to get to 3rd chair, since you're so close.

The threshold for first chair is 1,000, as proven by Selma yesterday(of course, that might be the number just for sopranos, lowered IAW their voice part/relative IQ).

Do you remember when you were a rotten little kid and your mother was ticked off by something you'd just done, and she pointed her finger at you and said something like:

"And when you're all grown up, I hope you have a kid that acts Just Like You!

Your soprano-baiting is just piling up more karma on that account. The JustLikeYou curse works. Keep it up.

I swear, I worry about that JustLikeYou curse. My mother-in-law is always telling my husband that, and I'm really worried. Not that he was much of a terror until he got into high school and college, but I DO NOT want children as wild as he was!
Is there some kind of rain dance or anything that can abate the JustLikeYou curse, other than absintence? ;)

GC,

The threshold for 5th chair is 5.

The threshold for 2nd is 750.

The threshold for 1st is 1000.

I'm not sure about the others, these are the only ones I've seen proven.

I'd like to re-prove the 2nd chair threshold soon!

What happens at 2500? You get banned from the board? ;)

PS. It's simply astounding that you've had to keep snickering for so long. <collaborative snicker>

My maternal grandmother used to use a traditional Yiddish curse which roughly translated is: "Go... have children." Do you think God was smiling when he said "Be fruitful and multiply"? :)

We have family friends who have 9 children thus far, and no plans to stop having them until they cannot physically have any more. I definitely think that God was smiling when he said to be fruitful and to multiply.

So, what we're pretty sure of is:

The threshold for 5th chair is 5.

The threshold for 2nd is 750.

The threshold for 1st is 1000.

And if Carouser gets the add reply button working we may be able to verify the 3rd chair. I'm pretty sure that 4th chair is less than 100.

Funny thing about eyesight. I was a little far from the screen when I read the above, and missed the little "stick" on the second "r" in the word "terror." So it looked like "tenor." Makes for an amusing sentence either way.
