I patrol the Universe, righting wrongs wherever I go (unless I`m on holiday). With my trusty sword & silk cape, I am INVINCIBLE! HA!! Yes, I rise to the challenge of taming the one who calls herself "Disc Jockey". Playmate of the Month? $1,000,000? HA!! I can squeeze you in between my anger management class (HA!!) & my manicure (h-h-ha?, gulp).
Weapons of your choice, Madam (but please nothing toooo sharp - I`m ticklish). Musical scholar? Me? Why, thank you, John! I am happy to discuss any topic, with anyone, but I really don`t think there is much mileage to be gained from trying to turn this thread into a running, battle of the colonies/sexes farce with Nicole. If she wishes to disagree with my views posted so far, then I welcome her posts, as I do anyone`s, but my instincts tell me that Leslie`s thread would not benefit from perpetuated, tiresome banter. I`ll joke with anyone, but there is a right time & place for it - I don`t think that`s here. I like to think I can make people smile sometimes, but I suspect that if what you want, carried on, then the good folks on this board would find it tedious. Including Nicole.
I hope you see that, John?
[This message has been edited by Peter (edited 03-09-2001).]

Gaddzooks!!!What r u guys doin to my thread??
Yer lucky I've had my dinner, and I'm not in one of my wicked moods.
Hey, I've seen this match before. Someone comes in right about now and says there's no such thing as a "perfect" fifth, the tone is
still 00.560030764 off. Whatever...(insert rollie eyeballs here)
Yes , our tuning tones have gone up sharper,
but still, not as sharp as Kenny Cheese plays. <g>
Would dear Mozart recognize his own work?
Uh, yes, but then he'd might say GEE WHIZ!WHAT FUTURISTIC CHUCKLEHEAD HAD THE AUDACITY TO TRANSPOSE
MY CONCERTO FOR WOODWINDS??~

Just having a bit o fun while trying to get some stimulating debate going. Although I subscribe to the "everyone can have their point of view," I would like people to feel free to fully express it. It appeared that you had a strong difference between yourself and Nicole. I was hoping to gain something from it. After all, it is through the exchanges, with some humor (note American spelling) mixed in, that gives me perspectives and opportunities to learn.
I humbly retreat to the "controlled" state, releasing this thread back to ~Leslie, and await another opportunity to spark debate.
John
P.S. I have to cheer others on, since I certainly don't have the knowledge and/or the credentials to debate music or the classics.
P.P.S. Given this stance, you forfeit the contest and Nicole wins by default (and yet another triumph for the yanks). Image
[This message has been edited by John (edited 03-10-2001).]

Very succinct, John! You see (above), we`re lucky we didn`t catch Leslie with an empty tummy - this was a narrow escape for us. I`ll let you hand the plaudits to Nicole, even though Leslie (again above) agrees with me that her thinking is clouded!
Re: humour (correct spelling Image). If funny at all, I`m probably at my best when not being egged on (extra pressure, maybe?). Also, I find it tough sparring with women - who doesn`t? - they only have to flash their eyelids at me, & I crumble Image
Have a good weekend.
