And now Tarzan de-vined the answer!!

Glad it didn't drive him bananas.

Huge round of applause for Selma getting it off the clues. I'm sure she sees just how close she was too.

I thought the van clue was just silly. I was wrong, but just a little.

That was the clue I got first thanks to a little Google help. Although I've gotten most of the clues & have solved the puzzle, I still don't know the significance of the upper-right picture & I can't even decipher what the picture on the rear quarter panel of the van is (nor what it's purpose is to the puzzle).

MWA-HA-HA! Even those that have the puzzle solved are still puzzled by this puzzle. ( :p I just wanted to say puzzle 3X in the same sentence)

All will be revealed in time.

All right, so what's the answer? I couldn't think worth anything on this one.

It is:
"Gilbert and Sullivan's Mikado."

Dilbert and a musical staff indicating a change from "D" to "G". = Gilbert.

Second picture is an electronic "AND" gate.

Next picture is the trickiest. The character on the van is named "Sallah" from the movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark". The picture at the back of the van should remind one of "RotLA" for reference...so "Sallah" + "van" = Sullivan.

Next picture is "Mica". (I know, most would say it doesn't look like mica, but look at the size reference in the picture. Maybe that makes a difference.)
Next is Homer Simpson clearly saying "Doh!"
"Mica" + "Doh" = Mikado

The "OTHER" Opus X puzzle is still out there to solve, I believe. And the solution is clever.

Second picture is an electronic "AND" gate
- sure, right, uh huh.....

What in tarnation is an 'AND' gate?
And why do electronics have such as they?

And, or, nand, nor, exclusive or and nor: Those are the gates that build logic circuits. Sort of like those four amino acids that build DNA sequences.

"Mica" was the first part I got on this one. I thought it was a pretty good image.

Great puzzle, Tim!

Yeah, but there is only one "Nor". :)

BTW, whenever I taught programming classes and we got to Ands, Ors, etc. I would give REAL WORLD "implementations" of these. My favorite is the exclusive or.

If you don't have the foggiest idea of what the "exclusive or" is, just look down your hallway. You are bound to have a light there that is operated by TWO switches. When one switch or the other is UP, the light comes on. When both switches are UP or both are DOWN the light is off. Has anyone else ever noticed that these switches are not embossed with the tiny words "ON" and "OFF" ?? :)

I actually got the van clue first. I knew the right-hand picture on the van was a character from "Raiders..." so I Googled it & got the character list. As soon as I saw "Sallah", I knew it had to be Sullivan & then the (D-G)ilbert clues made sense. The Mikado immediately came to mind since my daughter was in that production 3 years ago as her high school musical.
