A pat on the back goes to Iduna who gave a honorable attempt at this month's Opus X. Unfortunately her guess (though not a bad guess really) was incorrect.

Who will be the first to solve this Opus X I wonder? Perhaps it is more difficult than I expected since OT has seen the puzzle but hasn't ventured a guess yet? Time will tell. Good luck.

And a worthy salute to bignaf for his attempt to solve Opus X. Though both of his guesses were worthy, they were still nonetheless incorrect. Seems I might have a stumper this month (but not too much so since treebeau, who has not submitted a full guess yet, seemed to be on the right track with the thought process he shared with me).

Are we supposed to know the identity of the fräulein?

OT- I see your question and raise you another... Do you not know the identity of the fräulein?

Hi Hal,

As they say in Germany, "Ich habe keine Ahnung."

Maybe it's time to do a little swapping: Anyone out there who knows who the blonde is, and would like to know what the bottom right image depicts, PM me.

:D

Is she a 'city' girl?

:D Not a 'city' girl if you mean a 'Sex in the City' cast member, though I think I know which 'city' girl you thought she was (it's not her, but there is a slight resemblence).

She sort of looks like John Travolta's wife.

Okay, so you can mark these women off your list, none of them are the girl pictured above:

St. Pauli's Girl (famous beer wench)
Kim Catrall (Sex and the City star)
Kelly Preston (John Travolta's wife)
Olivia Newton-John (where that came from is beyond me, but the Travolta connection is intriguing).

Deck the halls with boughs of holly for treebeau, who didn't let the elusiveness of the girl's identity dissuade him from solving this month's Opus X correctly anyway.

Bravo!

Okay, it seems a clue is called for. And of course, I must provide a clue regarding the most difficult aspect of this puzzle... the girl. Here is the clue:

Die Frau übersetzt gut, aber nicht mit Herrn Thomas Kreuzfahrt.
