No, it is from a Christmas TV show.

[nyah-nyah Selma] Violinist4ever got the elusive #15, among a couple of others. [/nyah-nyah Selma]

Just trying to keep the tone of this thread on an adult level, mind you.

That would explain my unfamiliarity with it.

#21: filled chocolate cake elevated with a sense of happiness and fun

After overnight consideration, I concluded that I cheated somewhat with "filled chocolate cake elevated hobbitily", so I'm resubmitting it.

Only one day left!

Do we need a reprise of the list on this page?

GC - nice of you to pop in! Where's your list?

Jane proves to be the second sharpest tool in the shed, getting all but BigJon's entry(let's call it #22) correct.

[nyah-nyah Selma] She even got both #15 and #20! [/nyah-nyah Selma]

Hints:

#11 and #16 are slightly lesser known than most, but are still considered standards in the repetoire.

#11 is originally a French carol.

#19 and #20 are large, well-known works. #19 actually deals with more than Christmas, but is best known for Christmas. #20 is pure Christmas, from start to finish.

#16 is a word attributed to Ben Jonson.

#18 was composed by Alfred Burt

#21 - make it "filled chocolate snack cake....."

Can't give away any more than that.

Just got #21. That is TOO funny.

I gotta tell y'all, I'm getting a certain amount of sadistic pleasure out of watching people get frothy about this quiz. :D

As BigJon can now attest, I predict a lot of sore foreheads after all the identities are revealed, especially #19 & 20.

Maybe this should be expanded in the future to cover various musical works?

Ben Jonson invented a whole hell of a lot of words! That doesn't help at all.

No help on #14?

After a slow, agonizing approach, BigJon now has reached the summit.

He claims Jane's hint didn't help him......

Even though I think I might be talking to an empty room(probably should've done this yesterday), here are the songs:

The first list:

1. Nocturnal noiselessness - Silent Night
2. Diminutive percussionist - The Little Drummer Boy
3. Allow frozen precipitation - Let It Snow!
4. Adorn corridors - Deck the Halls
5. A small city in Judea - O Little Town of Bethlehem
6. The dozen festive 24-hour intervals - The Twelve Days of Christmas
7. Red man en route to village - Santa Claus is Coming to Town
8. Righteous darkness - O Holy Night
9. Far off in a feeder - Away in a Manger
10. At the zenith of the habitat - Up on the House Top

And now the rest, as compiled by Piqaboo, BigJon, and me:

11. Relocate a source of lighting, two who are named for the graciousness of, and consecration to, God. - Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella
12. Of a Shrub and a Vine. - The Holly and the Ivy
13. A small amount of Dec 25th is required by us. - We Need a Little Christmas
14. Ruminate and roam. - I Wonder as I Wander
15. Blessed sleep happy chappies. - God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
16. Ridiculous meaningless word! Ridiculous meaningless word! Ridiculous meaningless word! -aka- Follow Me! Follow Me! Follow Me! - Fum! Fum! Fum!
17. Icy Cold Guy. - Frosty the Snowman
18. Holiday Singing! Holiday Singing! - Caroling! Caroling!
19. Grip's Prophet. - Handel's Messiah
20. The Kitchen Utensil - The Nutcracker
21. The Ballad of the Skinflint of Crystalline Dihydrous Monoxide - The Snow Miser Song
22. filled chocolate cake elevated with a sense of happiness and fun - Ding! Dong! Merrily on High

This was an awful lot of fun to run. Thanks to all who played and doggedly persisted in working on these.

:D

Everyone have a wonderful Christmas! Even you, Haggis!
