Missing Movements?

Postby DavidS » Tue Dec 20, 2005 5:16 am

I just bought a CD in the EMI Classics "encore" series: Mozart, Symphonies 24-27 & 32, Neville Marriner, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.
Anyone know why for each of the symphonies but no. 25 only 3 movements are recorded?
BTW - what it cost me (less than $10) was worth it just for no. 25!

I checked again: Mozart wrote symphonies nos. 24, 26, 27, and 32 with only 3 movements apeice, so nothing is missing.
Thanks.
