Elgar's Enigma Variations

I'm listening to Elgar's Enigma Variations on b.com right now. Thanks!

What CD do you think has the best performance of these? I'd like to pick up a set for myself.

I'm not crazy about Enigma, although it's very highly regarded. My recording is by Previn with the 5 Pomp & Circumstance Marches. I'm satisfied. I looked into the Penguin Guide. There's no "best", but Boult has the same combination. Boult and Jochum both have Enigma paired with Holst's Planets. Barbirolli and Rattle have Enigma paired with Falstaff. All are recommended by Penguin, as are others, so you are not limited to these few choices. Let us know what you decide on.

Thanks Shos. I've been meaning to pick up Holst's Planets for the kids so that might be a great CD to get.

Is there an equivalent to the Penguin Guide online?
