LvB's Astrological Chart

Postby ~Leslie » Mon Feb 19, 2001 2:01 am

Ever intrigued by the personality of Beethoven, I was encouraged forward by someone's speculation that he must have had some Gemini influences in his astrological chart besides his obvious element of Sagittarian fire.
Thanks to the resources on the internet and having a good friend versed in reading astro charts, (despite anything she says to the contrary) I turned the chart over to her for some clues to Beethoven's dual nature, and his enormous impact on music history.
As you read this PLEASE BEAR IN MIND that this is presented as a totally subjective outlook, and NOT as scientific, merely a curiosity for Beethoven followers
with inquisitive minds. I chose this forum because I believe the ppl in here would enjoy it the most.~
This is what she wrote:
These are just a few highlights that are really
prominent in LVB's chart that gives support to
his unique outlook and contribution to the world.
Planetary placements only were analyzed, no
aspects were taken into account.
The 1st house represents our energy and how it is
perceived by the world. His first house is in
Taurus the Bull, which lends a very stubborn
character and outlook. Their minds are hard to
change. Our ascendant also influences our
appearance and LVB is a Taurus ascendant, ppl
like this are squarish and boxy in appearance.
They are stubborn, and are able to endure high
levels of pain and have a strong mental and
physical constitution. On the flip side, this
can smooth out a fiery chart sometimes, as they
can ignore other setbacks that would kill anyone
else.
They are usually practical in matters involving
financial affairs.
But this is all changed with Uranus in conjunct
with his ascendant(within 5 degrees), this is an
incredibly powerful placement. Geniuses
frequently have this placement, and it lends an
unstable quality to a person with this placement
but also incredible intensity and creativity and
frequently brilliance.
They hold certain notions about the world around
but are not willing to go along with it, they
march to the beat of a different drum, avante
garde views, and very restless.
His Mars is in Gemini, signifying a volatile
personality, a very fast thinker, and not
terribly patient with himself or others. He had
to have been attracted to intelligent partners.
He had tremendous practicality in his choice of
partners, most of these women would have to have
had money as well.
The placement of Saturn in Leo in the 5th house,
the house of love affairs, shows a desire to
"play the field", a short attention span in them,
and having to learn from those choices. It is
virtually a given that he never married.
His Neptune is in Virgo in the 6th house, the
house of health. Neptune being the planet
of illusion and creativity , showing health
problems both mental and physical.
The 7th house is the house of relationships,
where the placement of the lunar node
implies romantic relationships would have to take
second place to profession, and the placement of
Scorpio as the sign of the house of relationships
showing a possesive, territorial person and the
cause of alot of pain.
The Mercury and the Moon is in a 4 degree
conjunction in Sagittarius the 8th house, what is
received from the external world. Planetary
placement in this house signifies a person who is
destined to be in the public eye. The moon
represents our emotions and how we perceive our
mother. He was an emotional thinker and in
conjunct with Mercury symbolizes a mercurial,
volatile, recalitrant temperament.
The 9th house is the house of philosophy, with
the placement of the Sun in Sagittarius and
Jupiter in Capricorn ,a planet representing
'where good things happen'.
The elements of fire and earth clash, bringing
about a firm fiery philosophy, with
exhibitionistic overtones, a person not caring
who he may offend.
The 10th house is the house of profession,
probably the most dramatic of all placements in
this chart, aside from the placement of Uranus on
his ascendent, showing Venus and Pluto in
Capricorn. Venus represents the planet of love,
placed firmly in this house of profession, while
Pluto stands for a cataclysmic, catastrophic
event affecting the profession. It is not
surprising from this that he became deaf, an
absolutely critical part of his work. This of
course was a great tragedy, but one that he was
able to overcome.
An unusual chart, but one giving evidence that
our natal chart is neither bad nor good, it just
represents what lessons we have come here to
learn. And with all of us, he learned some of
them, and failed at others. This is only a very
brief review, a professional could interpret it
much more in depth.

Mein Gott in Himmel!! Did your friend know she was doing Beethoven's astrological chart? What about the multitude of other people born on the same day? I guess I was born on the day of skepticism. Good read, though.
Shos
