GG... Thank heaven for little girls! haha! Bad pun!
Same here, Harry. Glenn was a genius in his ability to manage so many musical layers in his head and THEN reproduce them! He sure would have hated MP3 files, though.
"This recording.. is.. missing so much information!" -- Glenn, 2001
Glenn Gould is no longer with us, but his musical performances are still here. I am sure there are a bunch of different piano performances that he recorded for SONY, but I do not own any of them, so I am unable to tell you the best ones. However, look for the Goldberg Variations, by: Bach. You will be lucky to find a recording of some of the partite for solo piano. You will be the happiest and luckiest if you can find his rendition of Bach's first piano concerto, I think it has one of the greatest allegro movements of all piano concertos.

No, Joe, that would be 'zjee zjee'. GG would be a four-legged animal that Leslie's familiar with!
Glenn Gould playing Beethoven's Fifth Symphony in C minor on Sony is very impressive.
Clare
Dear Ernesto,
I have the Glenn Gould Edition (Sony previously CBS) and its fantastic. I would have to say that mister gould on Harpsicord and on the organ is somthing to listen to but my favourite is by far and away Gould's performance of the Emperor Concerto. I also love the entire Silver Jubilee album. Clare, Joe, or Glenn have you heard it?
[This message has been edited by Harry Potter (edited 04-02-2001).]

I think we're missing a big point here. Death is a major handicap to most people, but Glenn was/is a most unusual person. How have you been lately? And what did you think of the movie, 32 Short Films About Glenn Gould? I was watching that last week. Do you still need sweaters and hand wraps?
Shos

I'm found out! I think you'll find it interesting to know that I am actually a clone of sorts. The Voyager Spacecraft, Voyager I was caught in a sort of electrical distortion in space and somehow my conciousness was drawn to it and given a choice. I chose to come back. Right now i look as though I'm in my 20's and I feel great.
I didn't really like 32 short films about me but i found it to be flattering and thank the Director and writer for portraying me so kindly.
I shall be playinga concert on an oil rig up here in the Arctic Circle should you care to attend.
Glenn

Hi Glenn. Good luck with your concert. You forgot to give us the date and location. I'll try to hop a tanker and get there. Apparently you're over your aversion to cold since returning. Or do you perform in mittens up there? May your new career be as distinguished as your old one.
Shos

On the contrary, I've always been attracted to the cold. If you go to your local library I think you'll be able to find several of my Radio documentry programmes. I suggest you start with, "The Idea of North" then move on to "latecomers"
Glenn

Glenn, pardon me but I heard that you racked up the bills calling telephone sex lines. Is that true? Maybe there's a Gould Scholar in here who knows the not so primm side of the chap. I'd like to know because a friend and I were discussing you yesterday and i have never come accross such info about you ---- yet she says she sawr it in a documentry.
Harry
