Well, I know the answer, but I gave up my guess.

I'm sure it's only a matter of seconds/minutes before Q5 is solved. :o

WABSGuess here
Bruckner symphony #00, "The Study"
http://www.andante.com/article/article.cfm?id=11796&highlight=1&highlightterms=&lstKeywords=

Im confused. I remember an early Q being does the composer reside in the Eastern Hemisphere and it being answered 'yes'. Am going back to check now.

some time later....
Yup, barfle asked "4.Did (does) the composer reside in the Eastern Hemisphere? "
And the 'naf answered "yes".
Google has him living in Vienna. I consider that Western Hemisphere.

Cat/Ray gets to run the next 30Questions game, because I will be out of contact most of tomorrow due to move at work.
Is that a satisfactory consolation prize?

Piq, I would define the eastern hemisphere as those areas of the earth whose latitude is east of the prime meridian and west of 180°. That includes most of continental Europe, including Vienna.

I believe most would agree, but clearly you don't. How would you define it?

Wow. How many times do I have to expose my ignorance? I've indicated three times above that I was wrong. There is no groveling icon.
I assumed it was in line with what we refer to in general speech as western and eastern civilizations.

You're not alone Piq! I was thinking there was more in the western hemisphere as well. Turns out it's pretty much North, central, and south america and a bunch of east pacific Islands I guess. Good to know.

(Edit: Oh, and a part of england.. Pretty wierd that...)

Technically, the Eastern Hemisphere is east of the Greenwich zero meridian, but we have become so accustomed to calling Western Europe "Western" that it becomes confusing. Personally, I think "West" is anything west of the Urals, but that's not strictly correct.

Mind you, even we Anzacs are referred to as Western, and geographically we're anything but.
