(insert sound of one finger snap) I was almost sure that might have been it; the other one I was thinking about was Voices of Children. I was feeling guilty last night tuning in with one post to swoop the top prize away from Catmando.

Too busy watching the extra-innning pitching duel last night between Santana and Schilling!

Lux Aeterna was my 2nd guess! :P

Alas, we are both wrong. Maybe shos or bones will solve *ig's evil 30Q

note the "technically speaking" comment after saying it involves vocal.

OK, times up!
the piece is: Black Angels (Images I) for electric string quartet by George Crumb.
great piece! check it out. I guess Cat should do the next one, since he guessed the composer.

Darn! It was honestly in my handful of potential picks. Unfortunately didn't have enough Q's left after figuring out the composer's name to narrow it down further.

Electric string quartet....hmmmm. Sounds like something I should check out, and might find interesting.

I switch between Wikipedia and allmusic.com for music info.

Alright, I will start the next 30Q! :P

it's for amplified string quartet. they have to be amplified because they do some very delicate effects, like fingering thr fingerboard with thimbles. but also for big effects. the "technically vocal" part refers to talking and siging they have to do.

Glad you didn't wait for me. I've heard nothing by Crumb.
