Idea: Simulaneous 30Q's competitions?

Postby Catmando » Sat Jun 10, 2006 9:29 am

Hmm, seeing Serenity and *ignaf running simultaneous 30Q7's, gave me a "brilliant" idea.

We could have simultaneous 30 Q's as a sort of game/friendly competition.

1. Whoever's 30Q gets solved 2nd (or solved with the most questions) is the winner.

2. The person who solves each of the 30Q's then becomes the next head to head 30Q questionners. If someone happened to solve both of the questions, then THEY would get to chose who they want to battle head to head in the 30Q.

I don't know. Just throwing it out there. :)

Oh no! I didn't see that he posted the other 30Q#7! I can delete my topic or leave it. I like your idea of having 2 simultaneous games going. GAME ON! *ig, it's up to you.......

after sleeping on it, I don't like the fact that the "winner" is the person whose 30Q was answered with more questions. I can come up easily with pieces that will take for ever to solve but won't be very interesting or educational. (for example a random Bach cantata will take for ever to solve). I think the point of the game should be to introduce good notable pieces to others. and to introduce their background through questions.
I'm trying to think of some kind of 30Q league.... maybe we can have BBB set up a special forum for that.

I agree with you *ig. As it stands now, I'm just playing both games as just that, 2 games simultaneously. We'll need more than 3 players though to have what you are envisioning.

Yes, I wasn't sure exactly how the determination of the simultaneous winner's 30Q would work?

I do like the idea of a "30Q League", with a special forum set up for it.

shos and navneeth usually are active, and piq and a few others have occassional contirbutions.
what I have in mind for the league is earning points in head to head matchups (with a schedule so that everyone gives everyone a game), where the guesser earns more points the less questions he/she asks. do you think the head to head idea is good?

Are you lot trying to make me dizzy? Dizzier than I already am, I mean.

Remember, there's some blondes trying to play along with you folks. One game at a time I can keep up with, reasonably well (except for a certain #6 scorcher that whizzed by me like a soccer mom on a mission) but two at a time and I'm perilously perplexed. Multigame league play and I'm outta here. :?
