(If it is, shame on you Shap! I had a piano trio in the last 30Q!)

Of course, I'm only kidding!

he said it is an accompanied solo.

 As an aside, how is a solo work accompanied? I'm having an oxymoron attack. /:shock:

A violin sonata is a good example. Most violin sonatas, which is the feature instrument, is "accompanied" by another instrument, such as a piano (in most cases), to make the musical number more interesting and appealing.

A piano sonata usually isn't accompanied by another instrument. It is simply a piano by itself.

If I'm wrong, someone send me back to Canada! :P

you're right. but I don't understand why you asked about string qurtet. Shap said it is an accompanied solo.

  I know! I don't know why I asked either. I need a nap.

The composer is from a German speaking country. I'm not sure where the piece was composed. :D

17) Let me 'adjust' that answer by saying 'circa 1900'. I can't find a publication date for the work, and it is conceivable (but not probable) that it was written prior to 1900.

18 ) Is the solo instrument a bowed string instrument?

Yes.

I guess someone who listens to B.com will find it easier to continue, since you said the piece is played on B.com. I'll take a break. :)

No problem. I'm getting ready to call it a day, as well. Unless someone posts a question or a guess in the next few minutes, the answer will have to wait. Besides, I think you and I and, occasionally, the very quiet Navneeth have been the only ones logged in for quite a while. I guess everyone else began their Father's Day weekend early.

Have a great weekend!
