1. Does not involve a piano in a big sort of way (ie. Sonata, concerto, trio, and the like)
2. Composer is European.
3. Requires an orchestra.
4. It is before 1827.
5. Not from the Classical period.
6. From Baroque period.
7. Not Bach.
8. Not Italian. But perhaps a connection to Italy.

Was the composer the founder of French Opera, Jean Baptiste Lully?
(if so he was actually born in Italy)....

lots of good stories about Lully. he was granted monopoly over opera in France. he died from a conducting accident.
was it premiered posthumously?

he probably deserved it. I bet we could have more variety from French baroque opera if not for his monopoly.

is it a comedy?

(I thought this was performed after his death, but I'm not so sure anymore).
