Stravinsky's still around, but her work has a firewall that won't let her log on. I'm in contact with her from time to time.

Donna (dkm) moved from Sandy Eggo to Colorado. I have her email on my home computer, but haven't heard from her since last August.

I believe he's in the far left, if I'm not mistaken. :)

OT stands at the viewer's left, nav. The other 4 standees are the redoubtable group known as Monty Python. I'm not sure who the actor was/is that is kneeling. Hal 9000 composed this composite for OT. OT was attired for a performance in one of Wagner's operas with the San Diego Opera chorus.

In retrospect I ask "Where's the Bunny?"

My guess was right after all. :D (I think he reminds me of Pavarotti - the only tenor I knew before I joined this board  )

I've come across their jokes in the forums I visit...this is the first time seeing their faces.

Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail is one of those movies you have to watch, if only so you get the barrage of cultural references. (Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition. Run away, run away. Your mother was a hampster and your father smelt of elderberries. Coconut shells. Bring me a shrubbery.)

Other cultural references come from The Wizard of Oz, The Godfather, from TV comes Star Trek. (Pay No Attention to the Man Behind the Curtain, to the mattresses, beam me up Scotty.)

I'm sure there will be fifty-nine or sixty essential things I've missed. I depend on the rest of this unruly crowd to point out where I've left things out.

OT can chant entire scenes from the Holy Grail - his appearance with the cast is particularly appropriate.

What's the average air speed of an unladen sparow!?

So true, Selma. We need that thread in cultural connections, you should start it with that post.. I'm sure there are other movies/entertainment that are sources of frequently used cultural references. Follow the Yellow brick road is another one from Oz. So maybe it's a contest, find the most influential contributor to modern (american?) culture. D'oh! is one that has infected even non-simson's watchers, but I can't think of any other wide spread references to the show, so it's only got one big one.

Dead Pool/Dirty harry has, "I know what you're thinking, did he fire 6 shots or only 5..." that gets pulled out when there's a sudden stand off at the end of chaos... But again, that's the only one from the movie...

On the actual TOPIC, it's a bummer that real life often trumps enjoyable online pasttimes, but life's not optional, unless you become a wirehead... And then more often than not, a new online pasttime (there's a neigh infinite supply after all) gets increased attention when things calm down...
If only I could fly on my own wings.
