Yup, I screwed up. :? Allmusic shades out the "movements/parts" section, making it appear as if there'd be only 1 movement.

But, upon further review, towards the end of the write-up, it says it contains 7 movements.

Is it a single movement highlight from a larger, multi-movement work?

 • It has some kind of voice
 • It is a sacred work (text taken from Sacred Book), but is not a hymn, mass, cantata, or an oratario

What the heck.....since I have another life due to *ignaf saving my hide, if you allow me to take another guess:

Is it Zadok the priest, coronation anthem no. 1 for chorus and orchestra, HWV 258?

Well, I have to thank *ig on this one. :)

I may have to wait 'till I get home before starting # 24. I need to do a little more research on my selection. I actually had it in mind early last week, I was just waiting to have a chance at another 30Q. It seems forever since I did my last one.

Believe it or not, I was thinking Zadok the Priest. However, I copied a wonderful record, Handel's Greatest Choruses (Ormandy, Phila, Mormon Tab. Ch.), most of which came from larger works. Consequently, I thought Zadok did, too.

I believe the work has been employed at all British coronations since it was composed. Definitely a winner.

I was wondering how to answer the question of Handel's nationality. But thankfully Ray asked the perfect question. Zadok the Priest was written in 1727, while Handel had become a British subject, earning £ 200 a year, a year earlier.
