Selma, I'm really sorry to have missed your question. I just noticed it in the Topic Review.

No

Reacp:
  • Composed between 1700-1750
  • Contains some kind of voice
  • It is not an Opera, Mass (Requiem Mass), Oratario or a Folk Song
  • It does not contain three or more movements
  • Composer is of a German born descent

Is it a hymn? (Please do not count this as a question if hymn is lumped in with mass, requiem).

since requiem is a type of mass (it's a mass with a few additional sections) we decided to classify them as masses. in fact it's usually called a requiem mass. nothing else is clasified under mass (I think).

if it is not a hymn, is it a sacred work? if it is, ignore this question.

I guess so, but I'm not sure. It has stuff taken from a sacred/holy book.

I need to travel through many centuries just to say yes, or no, to a particular question...that's what I like about this game!
Yes, it's in English.

Well, I'm off for an hour or so.......I've venture a guess, since I have a feeling we are close to an answer.

My guess is:

Is it Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne (Eternal Source of Light Divine), HWV 74?
