I think this is a trick question! Angels we have heard on high fits quite well, but that's a traditional french folk song, and has no composer.

That must not be the answer...

I think if I give any more of the tune it'll be a dead giveaway, so instead:

Think of the genre Nav guessed, and the context Piq put it in.

It's been 20 days since someon posted on this thread.

So, what's that tune, OT? I think the Games Comittee of BBB should sit down and formulate the rules of this new game. :D

Actually, someone has started something similar in another forum, only this time with (English) words instead of da's and dah's, which reminded of this.

Dah dah dah dah dah daaaah, de dah
Dah dah dah dah dah daaah de dah dah dah dah daaaaah daaaaaah dah de dah..

You sure there aren't too many dah's before the second daaah? I think there's one too many, and one of the rest should have been a da, as a dah is too long.

ha ha...I actually wanted to post that (or something else, the name of which sounds similar) as a wild guess after some googling, but refrained from doing so since I had never heard this opera.

Navneeth,

I've not heard the entire opera, but Nessun Dorma gets a lot of airplay on B.com, along with that Elephants, Yeah! piece. :D

Well, La dee da! I guess we'll just have to request Nessun Dorma sung by Darrell Dee so we can get the dees and das straightened out.

I think it's time for someone else to come up with a tune to identify.

Can't be. That would be
Dah da, dah da, dah da daaaah.

Something was definitely lost in translation.

Nope. Wedding March - Wagner(Lohengrin)

The Mendelssohn goes like this:

"Daaaah daaaah da-dah dah dah dah dah da-da-dah da-da-dah! Da-da-da-da-da-dah....."
