Cheap Classical

Postby BigJon » Fri Aug 04, 2006 8:08 pm

I was browsing on eBay and I found a big selection of cheap classical CDs from a store called Hoots Loot Quality Software. No idea of the quality, but it would be hard to go wrong at $1.99 each. I picked up some Grieg, Hayden and Mozart to fill in some gaps in my collection.

To find these bargains, search on hoots and famous. If you visit their store link and search on the same (title only), they have about 250 additional selections that you can "buy-it-now".

Happy hunting.

These must be the same sort as fell off the back of a truck and ended up here for NZD 3.00 each. They were Eastern European performers, discs printed in Germany (or at least by a German company) and were excellent value. Good performances, well recorded.

Well, I was browsing the Music Log and noticed that each selection played on B.com has an Amazon New Lowest Price that is much lower than the regular sales price listed on the links at the bottom of the page, sometimes the same album is listed. When I click on either link, the album is listed with a third new price between the high and low. Also, Amazon will list used CDs for pennies ("new and used albums exist for $0.55"). What's up with that?

Today, there was a Danny Elfman Planet of the Apes album listed (requested by Snaggletooth in Yosemite! ) that has a Newest Low Price for $2.98 but has a link at the bottom of the page for $13.98. When I click on either link, I get a price of $12.58 (saying there are 3 albums left but 120 used albums at 55 cents). :dunce:
