Marye I never say never as I'm not familiar with the newer pianists. The last Rubinstein I know of...when he was 84 on RCA is my favorite but I also have an early Horowitz (ca 1944) that is brilliant and picked up Kempff plays Chopin (vol 2) on London that also includes Sonata #3 in B minor op.58 and Fantaisie in F minor, op49 as well as the Polonaise Fantasie and Ballade #3. Kempff does/did wonderful work with the Chopin as well. Interesting as he is much better known as an interpreter of Beethoven and Schubert.

Missed yet another request. :( I actually requested that for the 3 o' clock symphony. Anyway, up next is a piece I've been requesting in the last week or two (the Kreutzer Sonata - only the first movement; a consolation, I suppose)

P.S. I'll be awake for quite a while, with music running in the background. :)

I love that movement from Symphony # 4 Nav!

Thanks for requesting it. I'm surprised you didn't request the Pastoral # 6.

I missed the boat today. I had wanted to send a mid-morning Mozart request for Symphony # 29. :( Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

I usually request stuff that I have never heard or heard very little of. This particular request was to decide whether I should get the pastoral CD by Walter (also with #4) or the one by Bohm (with Schubert's 5th). :)

Thanks, Marye. Till now I've heard only the 3rd movement, or at least remember the tune from the that movement.

Is that Ingrid Fliter playing his own composition or one of Beethoven's?

I think that is Beethoven's Piano Sonata.

TM..I like the sound of TSO and have a few of their CD's. "Wizards of Winter" kicks _ss. I am sure that you have seen this vid which was all over the net last year and was actually turned into a beer commercial:

The music was of course TSO
