We had Britten's Simple Symphony, complete, two days in a row. By request, apparently.

I enjoy the work, mind you, but not that much.

But, since I've not requested anything myself, I'm at the mercy of other listeners. I'll have to request a few lesser-heard works. I'll try to think of something.

Great to listen to HP and the Chamber of Secrets soundtrack as I've been reading that to Pumpkin before bed. Love the spider music! Husband leaves the room for all the spider parts of that movie! Have to fast-forward through when Harry and Ron are leaving in the car as I don't want to freak out the little ones too much!

Dvorak's Eigth Symphony is playing now. I had the pleasure of hearing it live, performed by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, yesterday. They did a masterful job of it! Also on the bill was Grieg's Piano Concerto in A Minor, capably performed by Andre Watts, and Steven Mackay's Turn the Key, with which I was not familiar, and not overly impressed. Gilbert Varga was the conductor.

The last week or so have been hyper-busy getting our online survey ready - lots of meetings, little time in my office to listen to b.com, then went to NYC for Columbus Day weekend - so today I've finally got a whole afternoon free to listen...I tune in and get Beethoven's 5th. AWESOME!

personally, some of my favorite Indy music is whenever they talk about or see the Ark in the first movie - creepy and reverent all at the same time. When John Williams is on, he's on.
