Happy Birthday Shostakovich! They played your Jazz Suite as I was driving to a meeting this evening. Then they anounced it was #100 for Shos!

I was going to post a thread when I got back, but *igJon beat me to it.

When, as a very young man, he was a student of Glazounov, he used to supply his teacher with alcohol. His father, a doctor, had access to it. Glazounov, a drunkard, knew how to dispose of it.

Not so sure if I want to wish Shosh a happy birthday or not. In honor of the celebration playing a zillion Shosh pieces including Shosh 5 which is kicking my chops. Any one got a pair of high, loud, in tune 'bone chops they wanna sell me?
