Composer that is either Dvorak or Liszt, whose travel inspired the composition in question.

It is orchestral, no featured instrument, no vocals, and not a symphony.

We have a winner! Yup, it is the American Suite. I listened to it last night along with From the New World Symphony. It's on my disk of Dvorak's complete symphonies and other orchestral works. The American Suite is one of my favorite works on that Dvorak compilation.

Arrgh. I've been Googling Liszt's compositions based on his travels. He got around quite a bit. I shifted gears from Dvorak after the symphony question came up negative.

Congratulations, Bignaf!

that's why I asked the America question, to determine composer as well as inspiration country.
