Hey everyone! How are you guys? Sorry I haven't been on in a few months.... I thought about everyone when I was in my one of my music classes today. We were talking about Liszt's piece "Un Sospiro" and I fell in love with it! Usually, I am not a fan of Liszt, but hearing this piece made me realize that maybe I just haven't heard some of his "better" pieces. (i hate to use that word better...) So, I was wondering if anyone of you know any other pieces by Liszt that I might like or that you reccomand? Thanks, everyone!

Hello, violinist, and welcome back.

I don't think I can help you there. I have the EMI budget box of all his orchestral works, and I enjoy many of them. I'm not familiar with his violin works, but I like many of his piano pieces. If I stumble upon anything I'll let you know.

Bignaf,

My error. Un Sospiro is a solo piano piece. I assumed from Violist's name that it was a violin piece. I'm still not familiar with the piece.

He did compose works for violin and piano, but I didn't notice any for solo violin.

Thanks, Shapley. Yes, Un Sospiro is a piano piece. I'm sorry, I probably should have said that. It's beautiful piece though...you should listen to it!

And to you, too, V4E. Un Sospiro stands out as one of the beautiful piano works of all time. His Mephisto Waltz (piano version) is quite dynamic. Do not miss Todtentanz (piano and orchestra). Moving to full orchestra, try Les Preludes.
