Ataulfo Argenta

I've been putting some of my records onto CD. I have 3 conducted by Ataulfo Argenta, who died just as stereo was in its infancy. Debussy's Images pour Orchestre is very good, and got a rave review when it came out. Ditto Falla's Nights in the Gardens of Spain (with Gonzalo Soriano) and Rodrigo's Aranjuez Concerto (with Narciso Yepes) on the flip side. I don't have a review of Albeniz' Iberia + Turina's Danzas Fantasticas, but both those performances (and mono sound on LL 921) are remarkable. His is the most sensitive Iberia and muscular D. F. that I've heard. At least 2 of the 3 are available on CD. I recommend them.

you heard more than one Danzas Fantasticas?! (it's good that this question is rhetorical, because Shos is on vacation...)
