Once upon a time when I attended college, nearby Amherst College's radio station ended each year with 24-hour-a-day classical music during finals week. At one point THE 9TH was played. When it was over there was a pause. Then the announcer, obviously overcome, said in the most solemn tones "You have just heard the greatest piece of music the world has ever known". Just thought I'd add the extra assurance, not that we need it. Shos
