This is it! Happy new year to the world, to beethoven.com, and to all the nice, smart, trendy contributors-- especially Leslie, Shos, Peter, Michael, and everyone who could relate to me here and elsewhere on the net. A toast to ourselves for having found the irreplaceable enrichment that is Ludwig's music, and a toast to Ludwig himself, who's still the man (okay, Shaft's the man, too--what a wicked remake!)
I spent the wee hours this morning getting pleasantly drunk off cheap sparkling white wine in my friend's outdoor hottub, contemplating the best of the past year with two of my friends, and I think I may have mentioned this forum. They kind of looked at me funny when I said that, though, and then my friend's girlfriend convinced us to do snow angels in our shorts...
Anyway, I really hope everyone here had a great new year's eve. We can look forward to great conversation here in the coming months; I am positive of that. When I first arrived here on Nov. 5, the forum had appeared to be no more than a couple of months old. In just two months, I think we have all been able to make this forum the best and liveliest place to discuss all matters Beethoven and classical on the net! I have learned more interesting facts, quotes, and riddles here than I ever thought I would.
It's been a true pleasure. Cheers to you all.

Well welcome back Serge, I have never seen a more quiet day on the world wibe web than 01/01/01.
All this talk about drunken snow angels and bipolar fiery sagittarians got me to thinking, and off I went across the web on a merry chase in search of Beethoven's astrological chart.
And I found it you know. Trouble is, I can't read it.
So it has been forwarded to my dear psychic
pal in Michigan for examination and scrutiny.
We shall see.
~Cheers~
Les

Happy new millennium to you to, Serge! Also Leslie, Lliam, Shos, Michael, Flowerboy, everyone. Serge, thanks for sharing the snow angels anecdote - it has been so cold here in the U.K. that ANY activity in my shorts has been most welcome Image
Talking of things millennial, I`m pleased that there seams to be agreement on this site that 2001 does, indeed, mark the start of the 3rd big cycle since BC. Even though the 0 degrees timeline runs through Greenwich in London, there was absurdly OTT celebrating in Britain that 2000 was THE BIG ONE, a year ago. So many people just got it so embarrassingly wrong!!

Leslie, when your Michigan pal gets back to you, please share his/her findings with the rest of us. I`m not a believer in horoscopes, but like our hero, I`m a Sagittarian, and even this most tenuous of links means I`m more than interested Image

It's all in there.
My pal is a Reiki practitioner, she researches
holistic medicine under a grant from the U.S. govt. She grew up reading tarot cards and ppl's astro charts. She is also psychic. Highly qualified, I promise, to give us the lowdown
of Beethoven's star blueprint.

[This message has been edited by ~Leslie (edited 01-03-2001).]
