Redludvig.com somehow forgt the rest of the story.

"The Central London branch of the British Musicians' Union has rejected a motion calling for Israeli artists to be banned from performing in Britain and British artists to be banned from performing in Israel.

The motion, presented to a meeting of the 30,000-strong union in London on Monday, described Israel's "illegal occupation of the West Bank" as "a vicious form of apartheid" and urged members to support the boycott until "Israel ends its occupation."
It was rejected by a margin of 38-16 with 16 abstentions."
The Guardian, a left-leaning London-based daily, last year described the 109-year-old musicians union as
"a left-wing, doctrinaire organization as secretive and tight-lipped as the KGB."
According to the paper, "If it's widely known for anything, it's for imposing a labyrinth of infuriating bureaucratic restrictions on the performance or recording of music."
The union is also known for taking decisions that have not always served the interests of its members. Until the end of the 1950s, for example, the union prohibited American musicians from performing in Britain because, it was argued, they would be taking work from British musicians.
The decision was reversed only when the American Federation of Musicians reciprocated by prohibiting British artists from performing in the US."

The devil is always in the details

who cares about details? ;)
seriously, the fact that it didn't past just shows that most of them have the barest minimum of a sense of justice. the fact that it came into consideration shows that there is a major portion who don't.

weather report for my area.
Temp. 16 F. Windchill: -1 F.
cold is great but only if you are compensated by a cool July. but we suffer from sub zero in winter and from over 100 in summer. i wonder how this area (northeast) is the most heavily populated in America.

Hey! Don't get me wrong! I love(d) Buffy.
Unfortunately, starting with the, in my opinion, disastrous Anya / Zander wedding episode, the program has gone more or less down hill.
That one episode had all the potential of a classic program ala "Moonlighting’s" “Taming of the Shrew” or “The Lady in Black.” Instead it turned into a weepy “Felicity in Angstville”
The past season got a little better since they brought Josh Weedon back, but there’s still something missing.
P.S. I lived in England for 10+ years and not only do they not think themselves “European” they cast distrustful glances towards France and can be heard mutter darkly, “…we’ve picked the wrong country to goo to war against”

Eugene's probably gonna be mad at me for not posting this on his thread, but oh well.
As a bulletin board novice, I wonder:
1) Are there other boards similar to this one?
2) And if there are, are they anywhere nearly as cool as this one?
It seems to me that we have quite an eclectic and interesting group of people (could read "misfits") here, and I wonder if we're unique, or just another blotch in the vast quagmire of the information superhighway. Just curious. :)
