Well m'dear, you shan't worry for any humming. The only tune I know from this opera is Brindisi. :p

That is, unless there's some other tenor you're going with(where exactly is my ticket?)...

I listen to recorded music for the most part, and rarely get to a live concert. Tonight the Hartford Symphony played Barber's 1st sym, Joseph Schwantner's New Morning for the World (civil rights related, 1980s), and the Saint-Saens 3rd. As an encore (who would expect one after the 3rd?) we got Walton's Crown Imperial (beefed up with the organ). I had never heard any of the works live before.

I listened to Footloose performed by a local High school with quite a few of my friends playing in it. I'm hoping to go to that school next year, for the musicals. It was unexplicably good. Singing and acting, especially from "Ren" and "Rusty" then singing from "Ariel" and most of the rest of the cast, I saw it three time. One dress rehearsal, once with a friend, once with a group of friends. It was beautiful. Closing night was tonight unfortunately but I'm getting to the DVD of it, but i'm rambling, so that's all the live music I've listened to recently.
Why should I live? Why should i do anything? Is there in life any purpose which the inevitable death taht awaits me does not undo and destroy?

Audiogirl, how go rehearsals?

Went to specialty numbers auditions for RBChorale last week. I've been in that group for some ?6 years now, and the quality of the soloists has risen remarkably. They made a quantum leap since Xmas. And what a variety of pieces, all either from Broadway shows, or about Broadway. A lovely 2 hours.

How go the rehearsals? Laughable. Our "director" is really only concerned about whether everybody knows the music.

There's been no blocking, no talk of the story, and we don't have enough men.

The bossy bitch inside of me is rearing her ugly head.

Whoooweeee!
When is opening night?

Is nowheresville close enough for me to audition for a tenor role? I can cross-dress most convincingly (ask the ladies I scare on dark streets).

Now that would be a good replacement pic for your b.com profile. :D

For this production, I'd need a role with a potbelly - no romantic leads!

Dare I infer a manufacturing activity?

Barfle, my good man, you infer with great acumen.

Selma, I think not!!! We have been counseling her heavily, and she will be any voice part BUT soprano, thank you very much!

<snickering icon> As though any child of yours would listen to counseling. Hah!

You may end up with some other voice part (my money is 9 to 1 against bass) but you're going to start with a high treble. Might as well get ready for the soprano. <still snickering>

Even if she starts out that way, nowhere to go but up(progressing to a different voice part)!

Typical soprano. Misses the clarification betwixt the parentheses!

Oh yes, she'll be Queen. Once she joins the party, it'll be all her and nothing else.
