Menuhin is debatable, but Heifez?!!??!! he's probably the most famous ever.

If you're speaking of the composer of the famous Grand Canyon Suitethen I know he played violin in an orchestra but didn't know he was a soloist. If he was that accomplished he'd certainly be considered a 20th century musician.

Being privy to the current standings of a certain top ten thread, I quite enjoy this weeks poll. And I'm not surprised at some of the replies it is receiving. I truly know how at least 13 of you would vote on that poll. :D .

didn't pick the sax. it was a toss up between oboe and the clarinet. oboe came out ahead.
