Hi Lliam. I enjoyed the information from tworesumes.com. The references for Kerry included two former and one current world leader. Those for Bush included one crackpot, two ex-mayors of NYC and the governor of Cal, whose states will go to Kerry, and a general who only gets one vote. Thanks. It certainly helped me make up my mind. :D ;)

Missed the news (on purpose. found better things to do. changed the cat sand.)

Radio news in the car touched on the streets-flowing-with-blood tapes this am, on my way in to work. The "American al-Qaeda member" has been tentatively identified as a guy raised in Riverside county (next one north of Sandy Eggo county) on a goat farm. The accuracy of his claims has not yet been evaluated.

Fine. Now we're being threatened by home-grown goat herders. If I see the guy, I shall pelt him with used cat sand. Otherwise, he gets all the attention he deserves - a snicker and cat-sand threats.

I have only seen bites of the video. What I saw seemed like a bunch of generalized ranting, on the order of propaganda.

Did you see all of it, RC? What do you make of it?

If I see the guy I'll bury him in used cat sand.

OT, my spice had car trouble last evening and I totally missed it.

I only wanted to see if it was more vague threats or something mildly specific.

It could be anything from a hoax to political shenanigans to a legitimate threat.

Knowing what Rove has been responsible for in the past, I would even consider THAT a possibility.

Sounds like you had the impressions of vague threats and rhetoric.

Bush will win, dammit! :(

Analog's article interesting explanation of ideologues and human nature. Doesnt consider that Kerry has darned limited foreign policy experience as well.

2 thoughts:
1) if Kerry wins, what can Bush say in his concession speech, given his comments of the past weeks re Kerry?

2) if Kerry wins, the armed forces will be just as thrilled to see him visit them as they were to see Bush. The thrill was not for the man, but for the office. It is thrilling to have the most powerful person in your country pay attention to you. Perhaps John Q Soldier was thrilled to meet Bush and Jeff R Soldier was not, and with Kerry it would be the other way around.

Terror and the fabric of our lives:
We live between:
a Navel port & subbase
a Marine Airstation
40 min from a Marine Base
Same distance from a nuclear reactor
A cargo port
a cruiseship port
a commercial airport
Close to 2 sports stadiums,
3 major universities
Downtown
4 major tourist attractions (SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Legoland (forgive us for this latter one)).

Although it doesnt have the name recognition of San Francisco, San Diego offers plenty of high profile targets. We cant live in fear daily, or the biotech industry would dry up as we all moved to Bfnowhere South Dakota. And then what would people blow their money on now the .com bubble burst? ;)

Lliam, a Kerry victory was assured yesterday when the Washington Redskins lost their final home game prior to the election meaning the incumbent will lose. This has proven to be an accurate predictor of every election since Redskin football began back in the early '30's.

GC,

The Red Sox hadn't won a World Series since 1918. This was also an accurate predictor of their chances to win the World Series this year.

Actually, being up in Wisconsin, I've never seen so many people rooting against the Packers as I have this week. I'm not sure if that's a predictor or not.
