I’m not sure I understand your question Piq. As for anyone doing anything, there have been isolated riots and protests by Iranians for several years. The Mullahs violently and bloodily put down some demonstrations and dissidents were publicly executed.

I certainly can't confirm with any certain knowledge but I would think this is the beginning of a revolution, or at least a sign that the average Iranian wants more freedoms

And the "average” Iranian is young. The median age in Iran is 23.5, which mean more than half of the population wasn’t alive when the U.S. Embassy was seized in 1979. Almost 30% of the population is under 14. the BBC estimates that “70% of Iran's population is under 30 years of age” and “Opportunities for the young are thin on the ground with unemployment as high as 28% for those under 30.” Numbers like those are what traditionally feeds revolutions.

My point has been that momentous, or at lest serious events are underway in Iran and the main stream media has almost completely ignore them.

I hope (suspect) that the U.S. is aiding this in some way, probably low level stuff like providing money. It’s axiomatic that no revolution can succeed without outside assistance and there are few countries with the resources or will to help other than the U.S.

Iran is almost exclusively behind the resistance in Iraq at this time (money and manpower) and if anything will deter them it will be public unrest at home.
