Small Business Owners Expected To Vote In Record Numbers

I hope they do. The stakes are too high for them to sit this one out. The question comes down to one of continued business-friendly policies or higher taxes and impediments to free enterprise.

But, of course, I believe you should vote your dreams, and not your fears (as long as they agree with my dreams :rolleyes:

).

Unfortunately, politics in the US has become "Don't vote for my opponent because (s)he's unworthy." I tend to agree.

I've watched gas prices drop so fast over here coming into these elections....

There was a report that gas prices will go back up after election day.

Did you know that the first voter in the door has to make a ceremonial walk-through of the polling place and sign a piece of paper saying that it was all fit and proper and ready to go? Wow.

The MRHYN and I voted this morning in Plano, TX at 9:00AM.

Voting was light but we picked that time so we could get in and out quickly. The polling place was at our local Mega-Methodist Church and they had set up coffee, juice and donuts (THAT's why I say I am an American by birth and a Southerner by the Grace of God!! Gawd I love the South!)

The poll workers I spoke to said that voting turnout in this very safe Republican stronghold (Sam Johnson is our Rep.) had been steady all morning and cars were waiting for our parking place as we left.

We used a magnetic swipe card with a touch screen system, same as last time, and the process was quick and easy.

I just got back from voting. Not a single Libertarian to be seen.

Both governor candidates in PA stink, I would have loved to send my vote to a Libertarian. Everyone else was meh except for Charlie Dent, who stands way above his opponent.

Yes, the dreaded Diebold machines were in use. The poll workers were running around like nuts, trying to help the blue hairs get their votes counted. The posted explanation for using the machines was skeletal. The user interface was adequate but not exemplary. The privacy was laughable with two tiny, little black screens on either side of box. Secret ballot, my ass.

Tell me again why we can't use the Canadian system

I voted. It was easy - the machines worked well and were very self explanatory. If they weren't there were many elderly ladies around to hover and help you.

I voted a short while ago. Our district is tiny. To my surprise the two voting machines were electronic, "Votronix" brand computers. They were equipped with a thermal printer that makes a paper trail as you go. Not that you'd need one in these parts - everybody's political leaning is well known and publicly discussed at the village coffeepot.

I voted....asked for the paper ballot even though our Diebolds leave a paper trail (allegedly)... barely a sigh from the poll officials....hope that box the ballot went into wasn't the recycling...

I did the same. Remember, if the scanner doesn't like so much as one stray pen mark, it kicks the whole thing out, and now, since they decided to leave all of the scanners in the warehouse, you and I won't be there to correct it and have it rescanned. And then it'll get tossed.

Really pisses me off.

Our County had the old machines....
Had to sign in... pull the lever....... etc....
they did not even ask me for picture ID.....
