UH OH: It’s sweet old ladies! Call the RIOT Squad!
The optics are bad. More here:

“Protesters sang ‘God Bless America’ and apparently that was enough to invoke the riot squad. . . . Who gave the order to call in the riot police on protesters? Word is that Secret Service from inside the venue and the presidential team pressured local law enforcement, who were against the idea.”

What’s that phrase? Oh, yeah: “The people vs. the powerful.” Kind of like the treatment they gave gay rights protesters at the White House last week. The riot squad ain’t on the side of the people . . . .

Could you imagine the result if a Bush Administration had done the same thing? Oh course it wouldn’t have happen, Bush wasn’t afraid of Americans.

I know a lady who referred to her 26 yr old daughter as 'just a baby, too young to be a mom'.
Huh. My mom had 2 by that age. She did ok with em too (or so I say).

Much of our social trouble stems from fading of self-reliance.

...coupled with an aversion to risk. I've thought so for years, and a couple of days ago a young mother said it to me at the primary school my grandson goes to.

That's one of the reasons I'm happy for him to play rugby, despite the high probability of injury, particularly once he gets into heavier grades at high school.

This is exactly how a regime works, and yet another sign that the media is in the tank for Obama. Would the media have even allowed themselves to be lectured by Bush's press secretary? I think not.

Is the Gulf oil spill Obama's Katrina?? A timeline

April 22: The Deepwater Horizon drilling platform, which had been burning for two days, sinks into the gulf. President Obama, after speaking in New York about the significance of financial regulatory legislation, hosts an Earth Day celebration in the Rose Garden.

April 23: The U.S. Coastguard pronounces 11 Deepwater workers dead after traveling almost 2,000 miles throughout the gulf in search of their bodies. The president and First Lady Michelle Obama travel to North Carolina for a brief vacation, where they enjoy BBQ.

April 24: Coast Guard Rear Admiral Mary Landry announces that the Deepwater wellhead is spewing crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico. The president and first lady continue to enjoy their vacation in North Carolina.

April 26: A remote sub fails to stop the leak. Just four days after the explosion, the spill covers an area the size of Rhode Island. After hosting a ceremony for the New York Yankees, Obama travels to Andrews Air Force Base for a game of golf.

April 28: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) pegs the leak rate at 5,000 barrels a day — up from BP’s claim of 1,000 barrels a day. Obama leaves Iowa and spends the day in Illinois, where he speaks to the owner of a family farm. He then visits a biofuel plant where he picks up mechanical parts and pretends to be interested in them.

April 29: Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal declares a state of emergency, as the spill “now covers a 600-square-mile area” and “is about 16 miles off the state’s coast.” Obama delivers remarks in Washington on the importance of cybersecurity. Later in the day, he attends a FEMA meeting about hurricane preparedness.

May 1: The U.S. military lends BP two C-130 aircraft to release potentially dangerous chemical dispersants over the oil spill. Obama tells jokes at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner, including one about killing the Jonas Brothers using CIA drones.

May 2: Obama makes a quick trip to Louisiana to ”get a firsthand view of the recovery efforts.”

May 3: Alabama Attorney General Troy King demands that BP stop asking fisherman to sign complicated agreements that would severely limit the amount BP would be forced to compensate them for the loss of their livelihood. Obama hosts dinner for the Business Council, “a group of current or former chief executive officers from a broad range of companies.”

May 8: BP’s containment dome, thought by many to be one of the environmentally safest solutions, fills with ice and fails to stop the leak. Obama plays golf at Arkansas’s Fort Belvoir.

May 9: The first tar balls wash up on Dauphin Island off the coast of Alabama. Obama delivers the commencement address at Virginia’s Hampton University.

May 12: Under pressure from journalists and government agencies, British Petroleum releases a short video of the wellhead, located one mile beneath the gulf surface. Using independent analysts, NPR determines from the video that at 50,000 barrels a day, the leak rate is 10 times higher than NOAA’s estimate and 50 times higher than BP’s early claim. Obama spends the morning with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai. After lunch, Obama retires to the Oval Office with his advisers.

May 17: While BP attempts to siphon oil into a special tube, scientists warn that the oil is headed for the Gulf Stream, which would carry it around the southern tip of Florida and into the Atlantic Ocean. Obama hosts the University of Connecticut’s women’s basketball team.

May 21: ABC News reports that in the course of one month, enough oil has spilled to “fill enough gallon milk jugs to stretch more than 11,300 miles. That’s more than the distance from New York to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and back.” Obama hosts the Pittsburgh Steelers at the White House. Also signs a presidential memorandum “outlining the next steps in his vision for cleaner, more efficient vehicles.”

May 22: Wildlife officials in Louisiana tell the Associated Press that they are considering setting the state’s fragile marshes on fire in an effort to staunch the contaminating effects of the oil. White House officials announce that they are beginning a multi-year renovation project for the north side of the White House. Obama delivers the commencement address at the Military Academy at West Point.

May 26: BP announced yet another plan for stopping the spill, a maneuver called “Top Kill” that involves pumping mud into the Deepwater wellhead in order to clog it. This same day, officials begin pulling fisherman off the gulf due to toxic oil fumes. Obama hosts the U.S. World Cup soccer team and the Duke men’s basketball team.

May 28: Obama makes only his second visit to a grief-stricken Louisiana before heading on vacation

BYRON YORK: Covering Obama, press encounters Nation of Islam.

“President Obama’s home is in the same Chicago neighborhood as Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. On Saturday night, the overlapping of Obama’s and Farrakhan’s worlds made for a strange, and sometimes testy, encounter between the Secret Service, the press corps covering the president, and the paramilitary security force, the Fruit of Islam, surrounding Farrakhan. . . . Some observers will make light of the whole thing — just a little misunderstanding with those weird Nation of Islam guys — but the fact that Farrakhan’s security force is close to the president’s home is likely a matter of continuing concern to the Secret Service. And on Saturday night, the two forces ran into each other.”

A Shrink Asks: What's Wrong with Obama?
By Robin of Berkeley
a.

So who is "Robin of Berkeley" and what are her credentials? Here's some more of her writing.....REALLY???????????????

Robin of Berkeley: The Wilding of Sarah Palin
November 24, 2009 in Campaign 2008, Campaign 2010, Campaign 2012, from American Thinker:

The Left’s behavior towards Palin is not politics as usual. By their laser-focus on her body and her sexuality, leftists are defiling her.
They are wilding her. And they do this with the full knowledge and complicity of the White House.
The Left has declared war on Palin because she threatens their existence. Liberals need women dependent and scared so that women, like blacks, will vote Democrat.
A strong, self-sufficient woman, Palin eschews liberal protection. Drop her off in the Alaskan bush and she’ll survive just fine, thank you very much. Palin doesn’t need or want anything from liberals — not hate crimes legislation that coddles her, and not abortion, which she abhors.
Palin is a woman of deep and abiding faith. She takes no marching orders from messiah-like wannabes like Obama.
And so the Left must try to destroy her. And they are doing this in the most malicious of ways: by symbolically raping her.

Just like a perpetuator, they dehumanize her by objectifying her body. They undress her with their eyes.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. There was some blogger that used to write, most likely from his mother's basement, about President Bush with the same kind of things. I commented on him a while back, when someone used him as a reference for a comment supposedly made by President Bush about the Constitution being 'just a G** D*** piece of paper'.

The guy used to post a lot about how he had access to a psychologist that would tell him all about the President's psychoses, how he was exhibiting signs of having 'fallen off the wagon', etc.

I perused Robin of Berkeley's site looking for some indication that she had the credentials to wrote that, or that it was written by someone who did, but could find none. I'm inclined to dismiss it.

I don't know anything about her either. I assume she's a licensed shrink in California.

She wrote what i had decided during the campaign - the poor fellow is at heart compensating for a self perception of inadequacy.
These two lines are observations; yes most of rest is speculation:

--Trauma: My gut tells me that Obama was seriously traumatized in childhood. His mother disregarded his basic needs, dragged him all over the place, and ultimately abandoned him. [as did two fathers, and the grandparents who plunked him into boarding school - a.]

....this is a damaged person. Obama's fate was sealed years ago growing up in his strange and poisonous family. Later on, his empty vessel was filled with the hateful bile of men like Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers.

And after the vile treatment of Pres Bush by the left press i must admit i don't mind them getting some of their own medicine.

They tried in the campaign to paint Obama as another JFK. Well you never saw JFK at a loss for words and his self effacing humor was spontaneous. They have to work to keep O's foot out of his mouth. His inner uncertainty looks obvious to me but maybe it takes one to call one.

Being a fan of Eric Hoffer i watched last campaign season and worried a lot about what looked to me like a mass movement right out of Hoffer's "true believer" book, his treatise on how the mischievous dictators of early twentieth century came to power.

Hoffer's insights may help explain something that many of us have found very puzzling -- the offspring of wealthy families spending their lives and their inherited money backing radical movements. He said: "Unlimited opportunities can be as potent a cause of frustration as a paucity or lack of opportunities."

What can people with inherited fortunes do that is at all commensurate with their unlimited opportunities, much less what their parents or grandparents did to create the fortune in the first place, starting from far fewer opportunities?

Like the frustrated artists and failed intellectuals who turn to mass movements for fulfillment, rich heirs cannot win the game of comparison of individual achievements. So they must change the game. As zealots for radical movements, they often attack the very things that made their own good fortune possible, as well as undermining the freedom and well-being of other people.

http://townhall.com/columnists/ThomasSo ... ments=true

Even liberals Jon Stewart( a mighty bright and perceptive guy) and Thom Hartmann(another bright one, and a shrink too) are questioning Obama's competence.
What's going on here?

I would expect a licensed shrink to avoid speculating on the psychoses of patients they have not examined firsthand, and certainly to refrain from publicly releasing any psychological profile without the express consent of the examined. (Or, in this case, the not examined...)

I took this at face value.
A frequent contributor to American Thinker, Robin is a recovering liberal marooned in Berkeley and a psychotherapist in private practice. . She'd like to thank American Thinker readers for their helpful, generous, and kind comments.

You're right, blogs are bloggers' opinion only. That one agreed with mine.
There's several shrinks with first name Robin registered in 947xx zipcodes.
Who knows - could be one of Anne Coulter's pen names. I should have disclaimered it as opinion. [ since removed - a.]

Time will tell. George Ball predicted implosion of Nixon presidency, i think this one is equally precarious.

I thought the term 'wilding' was discredited a few years back, shortly after it was used in an article about gang rape.

From what I read, the author of that article, wanting to appear up on the latest street slang, coined the phrase in describing the rape, when he misunderstood one witnesses use of the therm "wild thang', which was common slang for sex acts.

I used to read articles from Social Work magazine, back when my wife had to read that rag for homework in her college classes. Robin of Berkeley's article on Sarah Palin is reminiscent of those articles, in which everthing could be described in terms of violence towards women and attitudes of sexual repression. Robin of Berkeley's association with Berkeley makes me think she may be associated with the university there, and perhaps has some training in pshychology or social work. However, that's just a guess on my part.

Keep in mind that, just because a blogger calls themselves 'Robin of Berkeley', they may neither be named Robin nor reside in Berkeley...
