Is something going on with the e-mail server? Seems to be moving in ultra-slow motion.

Just out of curiosity, I tried mail2web to see if I could get into my account at work. No joy. I didn't think there would be, as the company operates a fairly high-grade firewall.

The firewall where I work won't let me directly access mail.beethoven.com because of the named port number, or at least that's my assumption. Mail2web doesn't have access to the spam folder, so I can't see or control that from work at all.

I've built my new computer, though. It's working about 75% of what I want for it (waiting on a Jaz drive and will be searching for a DLS ISP this week) and I have the email program (Outlook 2k) successfully sending and receiving through the main folder. Now, I need to find out how to get it to receive through the spam folder, use my own spam filter, and all will be right with the world.

New computer sounds fun barfle.
Fortunately I can access mail2web at work as home system spent rather a long time in shop recently.

Why do laptops have such short lifespans, even when used primarily as desk-top computers and rarely taken a'travelin'?

Hi OT,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. We checked our servers and they are acting up. Chris Larsen is working on it and trying to get them to pick up the pace. We hope to be up and running at full speed by tomorrow. (I could make a Star Trek joke but I'll hold myself back.)

In the mean time, your emails will get through, you will not loose info. It just may take longer to get the emails through the system.

Thank you, Y.R.H.

Okay, I'll make it for you.

We're at impulse instead of warp speed right now, right? :D

Thanks again for the help!

Looking like major work on the servers? I have a snow-white screen now for my b.com e-mail page, JFYI.

Just so you know, my task bar says I have 2 messages in my inbox, but the screen is still completely white. No text or graphics on it whatsoever.

My e-mail is back up, thank you. However, things still seems to moving like they're mired in molases. It's taking several minutes for a sent message to appear in my "sent" box.

Hi Folks-

We are still trying to pin it down. We may be restarting our servers this afternoon. Often that gets the system on track.

Update: b.com e-mail still moving extremely slowly. It's taking a couple of hours for a sent item to appear in my sent box.

Still having server trouble?

As of 03/28/2004 b.com e-mail is still not working properly. I am not able to receive messages. I am missing mail. Haven't tried to send. Afraid that's not functioning as well. Any one there have any idea how long this problem will persist? An answer would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Hi folks, I get a "this page cannot be displayed" standard ooc message when I try to access my e-mail. Is the server down hard?

Sorry to whine, I just used this e-mail address to receive RSVP's for the wedding.

OT,

I've been getting that message all day. E-mail worked fine last night. Today, nothing.

We have found the problem on the email servers. We had several "bad" sections on it, these sections were causing the problems you have seen over the past several days. We have taken down the servers and are currently working on them. We have no ETA when they will be back up. But I'll keep you posted once I hear from Chris Larsen our main IT guy. (He's fighting with the servers right now.)
