The Vivaldi was fine, then both discs of Creation got played, then the Rutter Requiem. Before I put on Segovia, I checked and, what do you know!, the 4-play is playing.

Let there be music! Here's the scoop folks.
The digital input to the new sound card was giving us loads of trouble so we ran a cable to the analog inputs and that, at least, is piping some music through the stream. Adsertion is still working to get the digital system running on our backup machine and once that is solid we'll make the switch and then get the digital working on the main encoder. Thank you for sticking in there and supporting Beethoven Radio.

Chris:

When the tech is finished, and all the digital gizmotchies are playing together, bribe the tech with whatever junk food works, and get a smudged pencil drawing of how everything is hooked up. If the tech can be induced to scribble in signal levels at the various connections, so much the better!

Apply more bribery and find out what software combination finally worked, configured which way, get that written down (probably in more smudged pencil).

Now duck tape a big zippie bag to the side of the server(s) and put the pencil drawings inside.

Voila! Documentation!

It’s playing! It’s playing! Albeit at half normal volume, but it is sustaining a stream!

Hmmm, Tuesday morning and still having problems in DC. I caught a bit of Anna yesterday afternoon (well, it sounded like Anna, but it looked like Dan), and today I'm getting the adsertion window that eventually changes to the "Station is currently down" message. Error number C00D10B5 if anyone doesn't already know that. Three reconnects and still no music from Hahtf'd.

And as soon as I hit "post," the music started. Fourth time's a charm, I guess.

It's 0811 CDT in Dallas and I'm hearing B.com for the first time in 4 days, good work someone.

It's around, but real intermittent. I've had to restart the adsertion window several times this morning.

My sound is intermittent plus the sound is kind of wonky, I can barely hear Eric, but when I turn up the sound the music blasts me out of my chair.

Must be intermitting. No sound for me at the moment. I'll try again.

No. Isn't it somewhere down PB-ish? I'm well acquainted with several Rubio'ses, though.

Hmmm, I've noticed twice today that the pool supply commercial kills my stream.

barfle, I noticed the same thing but for me I got portions of the pool chemical ad repeated. It would start halfway into the commercial, stop be silent then picked up towards the end of the commercial, stop again, more silence, then repeat.

That happened at 1508 CDT. I got the same stuff three times before the music came back.

Uh oh, Getting no joy! Lots of buffering, and little snippets of commercials, then back to the stream down message. I'll keep trying here...

Usually, restarting the Adsertion window from the b dot c homepage kicks the stream better than trying to restart it from the Adsertion window itself. I noticed it died again, but I was out of my office when it happened, so I don't know if it was the pool supply commercial or not that was on when it happened.

Not for me.. Cut out in the middle of a nice piece...

And now it's WAY down for me. won't even bring up the Adsertion window from b.com's page.. Darn hackers, one hack and we're in and out of debugging for days!

P.S. Wow, complaining causes instantaneous results! I now get an adsertion window, the startup ad, (pro flowers, mothers day!) A big pause, a snippet of no fish today! (Third base!) Then that stream down! Ah well, probably down for the count tonight.

Eerily denverish symptoms here. Adsertion window loads, plays proflowers commercial (very nice photos on that, BTW) then connects and buffers. Plays 10 seconds of "no fish today" commercial, and hangs. Stop stream and start again, buffering happens, then same 10 seconds of same commercial.

Maybe it was a bad fish?
