Arranging

Postby trombonepirate » Wed Jan 12, 2005 4:51 pm

Hi!
I'm new to this board, but I was wondering if any of you out there know anything about arranging rock songs for brass chamber groups. I've been trying to arrange 500 Miles by the Proclaimers, but it's just not turning out right so any helpful advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the pit trombonepirate. What a great handle! Look through the posts for those posted by bignaf. Click the icon with the letter and two folks shaking hands in a post he authored. This will allow you to private message him. He's a composer and will no doubt have some suggestions. Others are probably qualified to help (first oboe comes to mind as well.

Welcome trombonepirate! I'm not a composer myself, just a player, but I'm sure there are more than enough other people on the bbb who can help you!
Good luck!

Though I'm not really interested in rock nor in arranging it, I did some arranging of rock for piano, and I've written for Brass, so if you'll be more specific, I'll try to help.
Actually, I have a friend who's a trombonist/composer. she likes rock and arranging and brass ensembles. so she'd be perfect. I can pass on your questions to her.
