Shrewish-Sounding Lady Announcer

Postby DavidS » Mon Aug 08, 2005 3:59 am

The radio-actress we hear on several B.com announcements and advertisements saying things like "You're useless!" and "I don't even know how to re-buffer" is good, beautifully conveying the traditional image of the archetypal shrewish American female.
May we know who the lady is? :)

David,
If you listen to the voice again I think you will figure out who it is.

I'm surprised it isn't obvious to whom that voice belongs. Makes me think that you may not be listening to B.com at a certain time of day. ;)

You are right, bearing in mind that the time in my neck of the woods is GMT+2.
Anyway - just in case anyone got the wrong end of the stick, I stress my purely honourable intentions in starting this thread; I felt a compliment was in order on the convincing tone of the amusing dialogues in question.

It's Queen, baby... Queen. Princess it too beneath me. ;)

No hard feelings David. I did not take your post in a bad way. I'm glad I came across the way my Production Director asked me to act. He calls the shots, tells us how and what to say. I'm just happy that it came across that way!

HRH,

It sounds like you are getting punched in the gut when you fail to stump the trivia expert.

Funny.

That would apply somewhat to Elizabeth Taylor in some of her famous acting roles...

I believe it's called "acting."

But John Wayne never fooled anybody into thinking he was anyone but John Wayne. Listening at home, I recoginzed the voice artist immediately.
