I should also be getting trademark fees for them using "razor". :)

Oh well, at least they didn't put the "y" in there.

I edited out the two dead links from here.
Kindly send Sarge and his kill squad out with the cellphone repellent, again.
Thank you, Sarge and the Kill Squad

ps - No, Shapley, I would not buy anything from a "hotmail" address; nor from a spammer of any other variety either. I also don't buy stocks over the phone from people who call me during dinner time.[/i]

In the interest of security, and based on a post I read earlier(and of course can't find - whining about no "Today's Active Topics" yet again), maybe we should keep an eye on the new members as they show up on the directory page, and expose the spammers/bots/whatevers that way.

For instance, the current newest member, "blndgdjejqw", is nothing more than a link to a porn search engine.

I think as long as they don't annoy us with spam, let them register. I don't think an inactive member with a porn link in their profile is a very succesful manner of advertising. It might be a standard member, and the site might not actually be porn (did you click on the link?), it might just be a provocative name...

I don't think the term and conditions of the board prohibit having disgusting URL in the profile though. as long as the member is not spamming, it is within the law, and doesn't really bother the average member (not counting people like you and mw who spend so much time on the board we check the profile of every new member :D).

Instead of DELETING members that violate Terms of Service, etc, it's more important to "BAN" them.

All I would need is their Username, IP Address (admins/moderators can see this), or an email address of the suspected member.

Deleting an account, removes member information from the database. So the person can RE-USE the email address to register for an account.

Banning a member will make it impossible for the person to use the email address again.

Chris & Sarge, is there a way to deter these new members from using the Beethoven site as a springboard or lure?

Anything site or username with the words "porn" or "incest" in their profile should be given the old heeve-ho!

Ok, the latest one was deleted. :curse: If there are any others that ya'll have found please let us know. Thank you to the neighborhood watch for keeping the spammers of our board!

Chris & Sarge, is there a way to deter these new members from using the Beethoven site as a springboard or lure?

Unfortunately we can't do much more to deter them as they are manually signing up and using legitimate email adresses so we have to dump them as we get them.
