PM's and Logging out

Postby CLarsen » Fri Jul 21, 2006 1:58 pm

Hello Ya'll!

I finally had a spot of time to work on the BB today and hopefully fixed a couple of bugs.

1) I changed the cookie settings a bit to see if that will help those of you who are being logged out all of the time. To see if it helps, clear out your cookies (For Internet Explorer go to the Tools menu, select Internet Options and click Delete Cookies. Firefox: Tools, Clear Private Data and select Cookies and Cache then click the Clear ... Now button) and then log back into the board. Try it out for a couple of days and let us know if it is still a problem.

2) Private Messages should work properly now. When we migrated to the new system, some dates copied wrong in the PM code so that you would have to wait until 2019 before you could post new messages. That may have been a bit long for some people.

Thanks!
Sincerely,

I just attempted a test message, Chris. When I clicked the "send" I saw:

Er, now try it. I had those dates set to 1PM eastern so westerners may have had a problem.

I found an overlooked item.

My Rolling Eyes don't roll and my Razz has no tongue movement.

The animated emoticons only stay animated for a few repeats, then they stop.

This is can be a browser setting. Some browsers have the option to not allow animation or only repeat it for a certain number of times.

The rolling eyes are rolling on my computer, even on Serenity's post in which she says they don't. but the razz doesn't do the tongue thing. I'm not sure if it's supposed to on the new board. The wink doesn't seem to be automated, it just stares at me with a squinchky eye, sort of like Popeye. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be automated or not.

At least they don't talk. I always found that "Helloooooo" to be rather spooky. It didn't help that it sounded like Nicole Marie's voice, either. :D

I just cancelled my Real Player subscription
for the past few months it throws me out for no reason and I can never get back in.
When I use the FREE Windows Media player i get in each time and over the past 3 weeks NEVER been thrown off.

I feel bad as I'm sure my subscription helps support B.com
but the service is SO BAD......... with Real Player....... enough said.....

TM,

I've had the same problem, except that I can usually get back on without difficulty. I have written to them twice regarding it. The first time they were responded to my message and fixed the problem, for about a month, then it started again. The second time (about a week ago) I recieved an auto-response mail message acknowledging my complaint, and then nothing.

The Windows stream is more reliable, and it's free. I'm afraid I'll be joining you in quitting RealPass soon, but I'll give them one more at bat. If they strike out again, the game is over.

I'm sorry to hear that about the Real stream. I'll get in touch with my contacts there and see if they can tell me more about what's going on. :(

Well well! Looks like I'm back on the board, thanks to a good clean-out of Private Data as recommended by Chris on the 22nd.

When I called to cancel they offered me a free month to stay on.....
They never said they would look into the problem..... Just wanted to retain me

I just got fed up with all the hassles......
The free windows stream works great! :D
