How about the
A. J. Allmendinger story? Fired by the team he grew up with, picked up by a first-rank, but struggling, team for a "two-race tryout" winning three races on the trot and is now in contention for the season championship. Cinderella stories
can happen!
Now if anyone was paying attention to open-wheel racing in the US, think of the momentum Champ Car could gain from this story. The only US born competitor in the series, up against some of the most talented youngsters in the world and beating them all. Oh well.
