National Anthem - PST

Postby eyeclaudia » Fri May 23, 2008 12:07 pm

Hi Scott.

I've been a fan for years now, and I miss hearing the National Anthem at noon (EST) since I've moved out to CA (unless I can plug in before 9am out here).

I still listen to Beethoven.com (KUSC.ORG's not bad but they're not you guys).

Would it be possible to play the National Anthem at 3pm EST??

Doesn't hurt to ask, right.

Thank you,
_FanInCA

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

As much as I miss my family and friends back East, I am loving CA.
I spent over a year in the Bay Area and found it to be just gorgeous and sooo scenic. Incredible weather too.
Now I've been in SoCal for about a month and am loving it here to. Am looking foward to exploring it all.
Can't wait to catch the Yankees in action out here against the Angels. ;)

Capacitance has potential.

Selma will probably get that.

Aaaack! Shocking!

Claudia may manage to evade us: Ellations sometimes do. There's a lot of Ellay, and not that many of us. Anywhere north of Pendleton, and I need a map.

However, that said, I think the Random selection of Sandy Eggans is worth knowing. And OT knows where they keep the BBQ ribs...

Yup. SanDi Ego-ans.
In keeping with the musical theme this board strives for, can we call you Kareokes?

"Kareokes" bhahaahaaa!!! Good One.
That works! 8)

And nothing dark (except our golden skin tones) about "Kareokes" (bhahaa, I can't stop laughing at this), we are the easiest going people in the world, with this philosophy:

"Deixa A Vida Me Levar" by Zeca Pagodinho
translates to: "Let Life Take Me Where It Wants"

Hello and welcome to the board! Playing the athem at noon is a 30 year tradition for the company. We do get requests to play it at other times and we get requests for anthems of other countries too! Drop Scott an email in the request account - request@beethoven.com and ask him if he would play the US Anthem at 3PM... I'm sure he would love to!

H.R.H. Nicole Marie ROCKS!

Thanks for the direction, and I will submit a request.

I miss listening to you in the mornings, too. :(
But I'll be setting up my workstation at home soon, and with internet connection coming this weekend, I'll be listening to you around 7:30/8 am PST.

hmmm, a buddy sent me info on Chumby (internet radio), and I wonder if Beethoven.com will be available there?

(Have I been drinking or am I seeing double? Isn't this converstation going on under my name too?! Crazy!)

You are welcome for the info! I'm sure Scott would love to help out. I checked out the Chumby. Looks really cool! But it only plays the stations that are preset into it. It's not like it will pick up any internet station. I looked a little further and the partnerships it has with those stations are pre-arranged based on who paid what to get on the service. I know there other devices that you can pick your own stations. Here are a few:

Here is a good article too in the NY Times that lists a few of the devices where you can pick your own stations: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/09/business/09pogue.html
