I've heard about Denver in the winter. My sister has a thing about green F-150's stopped at random angles, mid-road, doing something or other for/to some other vehicle that's also stopped, mid-road. This disturbs her.

My cousin in Grand Rapids finds it entirely normal, though.

Perhaps all of them raised-at-altitude types view things differently.

Choice (f) should be reserved for people who apply their makeup, do their hair, glue on their toupees, fill out paperwork righthanded while on the cell phone lefthanded, shave, prepare breakfast, and read the newspaper while allegedly driving a vehicle that's doing 70 or better.

Maybe we need a choice (g). Fender-mounted TOW missiles. It's a favorite fantasy of mine...

Well, I don't know about the others here, but I do get annoyed by agressive drivers. The ones that really bug me are when I'm going 5 over in the fast lane and the guy behind me is applying a bumper sticker to my bumper while I'm driving! I mean, really, I'm already breaking the law! Is it going to be 10 MPH manditory soon, 15 allowed? Traffic laws are certainly are getting streched more and more.

Aw, Denver winter driving is only bad once in a while. We don't even get snow all the times you hear about colorado snow! The mountains steal it a lot of the time. Which is good, since that's where all our water comes from. This year was a good year for the Eastern side... Not so hot for the western slope. Hope the fires don't get too bad this year, cuz all the slurry bombers are permenantly grounded...

Okay, so I have a mild case of road rage. The radio in my car is broken; it's actually a source of amusement. The CD player occasionally turns on by itself and looks for a CD. Other than that, narry a sound ventures forth from the darned thing. As a result, I have time to watch the other drivers and become incensed with their lousy driving habits.

I do agree with Benito of Denver. I'm already driving 75 or 76 in a 70 and the guy behind me (usually driving an SUV or pick-up truck) is so close to my back bumper that all I can see out the rearview mirror is his grill. If I had to stop suddenly......well, we won't think about that eventuality. It's the oly part about the drie to work every day I really dislike.

Judybug,

Why would you stop suddenly in the fast lane? And why are you looking in your rear view mirror anyway? What's behind you is someone elses problem. :D :D :D

I learned those rules driving in California. :D

I have this to say to all those crazy drivers! It's somebody else's problem until someone stops in front of you (or the light turns red)! *laugh* And then you stop and they don't stop and now it's your problem because their insurance won't fix your car that you were taking care of so you could spend your money on something else for now! It's amazingly easy to total a car in it's last years of life...

Ah well, I rant, but not at you Shapely.. Just at the reality of whose problem it is, even when it's "somebody else's fault," something that most of these bad drivers don't think about probably. *sigh*

This is the stupidest thing I even seen done while drive: A woman was driving and changing a baby's dipers! Oh, on the freeway!

Hi Donna!

NoooooooOOoooo, say it's not true! Did you watch her crash too!? How could you DO such a thing? It's a difficult at times even when you don't have this little thing like a road to worry about.

What signs were there? Was she holding the baby and the diaper up for all to see!? That's verra sad...

P.S. Yet another activity to set to Barber Of Seville, to give it a bit of a musical spin!

p.p.s Imagine that below is a baseball diamond.. best I can do... HEY, now wait, why isn't Cleese on that list!?

OK, this qualifies for a type (g) response. First save the baby, then nuke the diaper-changing driver idiot.

Good grief! Talk about stupid!

Two more questions. Was this on 78? And was she driving a SUV?

It is true. I was on my way to work. I drove a pickup truck (so I can haul horses around). It sat up high and I could generally look down into cars. I happened to look to my left and there she was! I was dumbfounded! She got off at the next exit.

I did call the local Constabulary. I don't know what they did about it, but they were very concerned!

I-15, headed south out of Escondido. She was driving something the size of a Geo Metro.

Years ago, when the freeway speed limit was 55, I was southbound on I-15 in the Lawrence Welk area in the #2 lane. I passed a woman in the #1 lane doing about 70, and she was looking at herself in the rearview mirror with an EYELASH CURLER firmly clamped on to one of her eyelashes!

My other observation from the motorcyclist's perspective is that, by my estimate, 75% of the people who cut me off are yakking away on their cell phones!    I am fervently hoping the legislation to ban handhelds in the car passes!

Why do people drive while keeping less than one car distance between cars and going at 70-80 mph in Massachusetts? (The "M" should be dropped). No wonder insurance rates are high.

I dislike drivers who get on the right side of their lane to turn left or get on the left side of their lane to turn right. Are they driving an 18 wheeler or a street sweeper that they have to make such wide turns?

I've often wanted to use a paintball gun on the idiots who either cut me off, or pull up next to me at red lights with hip-hop booming so loud I can't tell if the vibration is from my car or an earthquake. Since they always do that with their windows open, they make an easy target.

Yup, I'm sure he did. I know that chunk of road, it's a marvelous wide curvy piece of 8-lane going by Geezerville and the traffic runs 75-80 unless it's raining. If eyelass-curler woman was only doing 70, she was getting traffic stacked up behind her.
