Natural wonders may not always be there!

Natural wonders may not always be there.
==============================================
Hey, any of you guys out there from New England know anything about this topic???
==============================

The residents of New Hampshire should decide what to do about the collapse of the infamous landmark, "Old Man".

The collapse of "Old Man" is a tragic loss to the overall identity of the state.

The loss may have a negative effect on the overall economy and tourism industry in the state.

However, by losing "Old Man" the residents may be able to enhance their appreciation for the many natural wonders of their blessed state and learn not to take anything for granted.

As much as the old man was said to be a reminder that God made man out of the earth, its collapse may also stand to remind us that the natural wonders we can see every day may not always be there. That the earth is slowly eroding in many places and we should appreciate and enjoy and better manage our earth while we have it.

I know the old man collapsed that's all I know. there was a protective net around it or something and the face collapsed taking the net with it.

Keep in mind that the "old man" was created when other parts of the mountain eroded. It was inevitable that the "old man" would also go the way of the whale. Efforts to preserve it against he natural forces of nature failed, as they were doomed to do from the outset.

Eventually, nature always prevails. We can't stop the forces of nature any more than we can stop time itself.

Never heard of the Old Man, but I heard of "Lot's Wife" at the Dead Sea. It was a pillar of salt, said to be Lot's wife.

I seem to recall hearing that it eroded and fell into the Dead See a few years ago.

Hi Lliam. The "Old Man", a natural formation that resembles a face in profile from ideal locations, collapsed last month. It was what New Hampshire chose to put on its state quarter. There is some CT company that wants to reconstruct it in plastic. That's being considered.

By the way, when the U.S. was being formed, N.H. was the 9th state to ratify the constitution. Article VII of the constitution said that when the 9th state signed on, there would be a United States (consisting of the 9 states). Within 2 years from that, all 13 colonies had ratified.

I didn't hear that Lot's wife eroded. and it wouldn't "fall" into the dead sea since it is somw way away from it. when I saw it (twice) it did not look like much. just a pillar. it was constantly eroding but I don't think it dissapeared. anyway you can always find another pillar around there and call it Lot's wife.

One of the angels said unto Lot, ESCAPE FOR THY LIFE; LOOK NOT BEHIND THEE. Note, two direct commands are given. 1-ESCAPE. 2-LOOK NOT BEHIND THEE. We need to escape from the ways of the world. We need to be set free from the works of darkness. We need to overcome all things. Once we begin to follow Jesus, we should not look back but forward to Jesus. We should not look back and desire our old sinful ways. Our past is to be put behind us as we put off the old and put on the new. As it is written, NO MAN, HAVING PUT HIS HAND TO THE PLOUGH, AND LOOKING BACK, IS FIT FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD-Lk 9:62.
