I've been on my share of sales calls - I worked for an education software company as a consultant and used to go out to explain advantages and such...I still feel SOOO dirty...
sigh...
I think my counfusion came with the fact that you shared staff, engineers, sales, space, equipment...etc.
I do understand about keeping separate the two companies, but I think there's an element that is an attraction - If they're willing to take on CCC, well, Beethoven is an added bonus!!
As to the film - I can't comment. I was sitting with a couple of attorneys. The film was a documentary with a sappy ending as far as we're concerned. The problem may be that the audience didn't realize how reflective of reality that film really is...
Some would call it a horror film rather than drama.
I liked all the people in it, some great acting (the scene in the bathroom between Hoffman and Hackman was excellent) some unintentional laughter from law students and attorneys in the audience - "He interned with a large firm during the summer and seemed so disillusioned afterwards" made the three of us choke we were trying not to laugh out loud.
It was paced, could have been edited down, but it's based on Grisham, so what else do you expect?
I did sit next to the CCC people and I do have to say, to the "larger" woman sitting next to me - I'm glad you're proud of your weight and size and not afraid to show it, but next time you might want to wait for the ENTIRE line before you cheer...
(Hackmans character says "I love fat women...(cheer from the larger women in the audience) they're tight fisted and unsypmpathetic." (crickets chirp...uncomfortable silence)
