Happiness is a conscious choice, not an automatic response - Mildred Barthel.

In order to have great happiness, you have to have great pain and unhappiness-otherwise how would you know when you're happy? - Leslie Caron

A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes. - Hugh Downs

Happiness is like those palaces in fairy tales whose gates are guarded by dragons which we must fight in order to conquer it. - Alexandre Dumas

Seek not happiness too greedily and be not fearful of unhappiness. - Lao Tzu

Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present. - Jim Rohn

Happiness lies neither in vice nor in virtue; but in the manner we appreciate the one and the other, and the choice we make pursuant to our individual organization. - Marquis DeSade

"I dread success. To have succeeded is to have finished one's business on earth, like the male spider, who is killed by the female the moment he has succeeded in his courtship. I like a state of continual becoming, with a goal in front and not behind."
George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950)

"The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness."
John Kenneth Galbraith (1908 - )

Yes, unfortunately. I'm the chief administrative guy for the Public Policy group which includes the Public Relations people (press and media relations) and Government Relations (Congress and Federal agencies). It' pretty busy around here right now. We just finished cleaning up the DC and NJ facilities from the last anthrax incident.
