Lunch would be difficult except on Sunday. Monday is quilt guild night, though, so I'll be north-county bound. Specific suggestions? Can GC join? Donna, how mobile are you yet? Anybody else?

Um, anybody tried the Romano's at North County Fair? I've heard good things about their cheesecake.

Or, I could scam a sick day. My boss just brought me this Thousand Hours Of Accumulated Sick Leave certificate, and a cutesy little pin, so I can probably get away with anything along that line (what are good reputations good for, besides camouflage?) On the other hand, I am the sort of person who has six months sick leave accumulated...

Monday, early-ish supper, would be my first preference (guild starts at 7:00); Sunday, lunch, would be a good possibility. Might even induce Gil to tag along Sunday if I bribe him with a movie. Or maybe not. Is there football this weekend? If there's football, I'm a widow. (Come to think of it, I'm also frequently widowed by baseball, tennis, golf. Never basketball or soccer, though.)

Randomly,

Selma

No replies. Where'd they all go?

I still have to eat somewhere between Scripps Ranch and Escondido tomorrow. If I get lucky somebody will volunteer to keep me company.

If anybody wants to go with me to my Quilt Guild, it's at Tierra Bonita school, in the multipurpose room, at 7:00 PM. See Friendship Quilters web page.

So, did you guys ever get together for lunch?

After a brief weather delay, the DCBBBLB is meeting on Friday at Cafe Mozart. And we're open to meeting new friends.

Selma tried valiantly but no, we didnt get together. A total crash and burn out here on the left coast.

Perhaps we can pull it together in time for the next quilter's club meeting in No. County?

I have to be in Poway at 7 on Monday nights.
Selma, wanna meet somewhere for dinner?
OT?
GC?
Leigh?
Anyone else?

Is that a generally good locale and time?

Next decision. Where.

Do we have any Italian restaurants with operatic servers? Or shall we go with a Turandot theme, and head for China Fun? PickupStix? Panda Express?

There's Rubios. Marie Calendars. Olive Garden. Diane's for gyros. Outback if you don't mind breathing onion and horseradish on folks for the rest of the evening. Pernicanos if you don't mind garlicking them. And there's always the chicken pie place.

not to mention
california pizza kitchen
champagne bakery

We could go mex or spanish for a Don Carlo theme.... italian for Traviata, Japanese? for Pearl Fishers.... Is there a middle european restaurant ala Katya K (cant rmember the full name of that last darn opera).

I have no preference.
C'mon someone else, chime in here !!!

There's a Russian restaurant in La Mesa, I think it's down Lake Murray Blvd from me. I don't know of any in north county. So, for the opera theme, I think we'll have to abandon the katya thing.

all the rest work fine for me. Where is "Pearl Fishers" supposed to be set? Ceylon? Bali? We could maybe add Indian or Thai to the list.

Are third socks required at the Bali restaurants?

Just curious.

Third sock? Hmmm. That must be the wind sock, no? :)

I'm writing down Monday 2/9/04 at 5(gasp)30PM on my bathroom mirror so I can attend but with 'prosperity being just around the corner'( Euphemism translator: gainful employment) I may have to cancel. Expect this won't be a super time or location for me in the future.

Olive Garden is advertising a chicken-and-mushroom lasagna. I'm fond of chicken, and mushrooms, and lasagna. And nobody else has come up with a concrete, specific suggestion.

Monday, 5:30 or as close as I-15 will permit, Olive Garden?

Or, if not, where?

Chicken and mushrooms and lasagna all sound good. :) I'll pass on the concrete, but thanks anyway! :p

See ya there then, then!

Ps there is a back way for those coming east and north:
Ted Williams Pkwy/56 :
cross the I-15 frwy bridge going East but right at the east edge, go off TW on teh little righthand offramp. Turn left under fwy and follow that road.
It'll go right to the Carls Jr (which is real close to olive garden) and keep you off I-15 N.

Wish I could join y'all. Would be fun to join in as you explain the third sock jok to GC. Don't think GC has been around long enough to know about it. :D
