Would have been a better long weekend if I actually got today (July 3) off from work. Oh, well. Going away next week, so I really needed the extra day to work anyway. Annoying to think that I should probably check my work email once or twice while I'm gone... other than winter break, I haven't missed this much work since I've been here (2 years Aug. 9). You'd think that being involved with studies based in public schools that the summer would afford me some down time...oh, well.

Took Pumpkin to a parade on Saturday - BBQ at parents house later. He liked everything but the loud sirens/horns when the fire trucks went right past us. After the first set, he just climbed on my lap when another set of trucks was coming and put his head on my shoulder and let me cover his other ear with my hand. This was his first parade - usually they're during nap time - this one was at 10am. :)

Not taking Pumpkin to fireworks - too late and as noted above, he doesn't like loud noises. Although when he was in utero we went to fireworks and boy, did he kick!!

No real plans for tomorrow - considering going to a ball game...

Altoid said the fireworks were loud and pretty.
