Lioness, just make sure your oranges don't rot, then you lose the good smell and get a whole other smell. :(

They are good for a holiday-like smell too. . .we made them in school one year for Thanksgiving when I was younger, and my mom kept the idea around for getting rid of her dogs' dog smells.
They work really well and are very fragrant!

I stuck cloves in an orange one Christmas.
Nice aroma!

Swallow Listerine. Yuchh
I heard a report on the radio today that somebody drank listerine and was pulled over for DUI. Listerine is 25% alcohol.

If you like the smell of sage, you could burn some sage(dry bundle - like the indians do). It has a pervasive quality which should overpower the cigarette smoke smell.

Plus, if you're into native American beliefs, you rid your condo of bad spirits at the same time.

OT: i'm impressed! i usually smudge regularly with sage & sweetgrass, sometimes cedar (yes, it is a family tradition thing). it helps with the cravings.

i also make dance staffs, medicine stix and shields, etc. for my house. been doing it for years.

Saxy: that whole OTHER rotting citrus smell is down right nasty! i learned you better know where it originates from or you'll have the hunt of a lifetime to pin it down!

Listerine is not drinking alcohol. It should not be swallowed. It's still useful for many things.

Hi Lioness,

So you are familiar with smudging? I would've used the term if I had any idea. Do you just smudge yourself, or have you tried smudging the whole condo?

Do you use broad or narrow leaf, or both? I like the narrow leaf, but it's only found at higher elevations around here.

yesss!!! score for BR... i do luv Stravinsky!! :D

i do both... usually with different feather fans depending on the desired effect(s). i haven't had the chance to do the whole around house since i've stopped smoking. that will be a weekend thing.

i use various types but enjoy a much thicker leaf. however i currently am using blend of wild sage from both SD & CO that works just fine. the CO is a thinner leaf and i do like it.

i try to take a trip to SD every year or so for the Sundance. i usually stop off at Paha Sappa (sacred mountain) for meditation and will take a very small sprig with me after i have left behind something of value to the mountain.

Selma,
I agree, Listerine should not be ingested but some rocket scientist actually drank it to get high and got pulled over and given a DUI.

Was he related to the guy that had a strange compulsion to take off all his clothes and go running around outside?

The guy was told to drink Windex, which cured him. Yup...Kept him from streaking.

Can't think that if you drank that stuff it would burn like heck going down.

there's no box... i don't have any at all.
and i'm NOT going to buy any. i got a litle weak last night and bummed one from a neighbor.

not happy i smoked but it did relieve the pressure a bit. i still feel ok about it. one in 3 days is a zillion times better than 2 packs a day for three days ;)

Lioness,

Ah... don't feel badly. It took me a number of attempts to finally quit. Dust yourself off and try again tomorrow.
