Pope John Paul II

Postby zlosin » Tue Feb 01, 2005 5:45 pm

ROME (Reuters) - Pope John Paul was taken to hospital late on Tuesday, Italian media including national news agency Ansa and Sky Italia television said.

The pope fell ill with influenza on Sunday and was forced to cancel all his engagements over the past two days.

There was no immediate comment from the Vatican.

I pray for the health of the Pontif.

PSIP,
Update (taken from MSN website)

VATICAN CITY - Pope John Paul II had difficulty breathing as he battled the flu, the Vatican confirmed Wednesday, but it said tests showed his heart and respiration were normal and that the 84-year-old pontiff rested for several hours overnight.

John Paul was being treated Wednesday for respiratory problems in the Gemelli Polyclinic. He was rushed there late Tuesday from his Vatican apartment, where he had been battling the flu for several days, Vatican officials said.

Thanks for the laughter!

I heard the Pope stuck his head out of his hospital room window for a bit yesterday, but he saw his shadow and went back in.

Ok, so it's about a week late for that.... but :D anyway

yeah yeah. I'm not Catholic, so when I was little, I thought Lent was spelled the same way as lint. My mistake.

There was a guy I used to bowl with who gave up drinking beer for lent. He was sober but bowled like crap. Also alot funnier when he was drinking.
We used to watch his average dip during this time and then come up after he started drinking.
What are we doing wrong?
Hmmnn...

Yeah, the more intoxicated I become, the more likely I am to thwack someone with the pool stick though. . .
